Arbitration or Mediation

Arbitration and Mediation, usually known as ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) are fast-growing and approved methods of dealing with complex issues either before, or in place of trial, in a less formal, less adversarial setting. ADR has become recognized as a standard choice to reach agreement on matters otherwise at an impasse, or settle matters at any stage of litigation. ADR often saves bringing a lawsuit altogether. These tools are effective ways of reaching a satisfactory result for the involved parties and eliminate the escalating costs, tempers and failed outcomes often seen with traditional trials. Linda Iannelli is a trained mediator by the professionals at Straus Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law.
